The high school declared a week in November 2008 as “Mannahatta Week.” Students planned and participated in a range of Mannahatta-related projects, including a field trip to identify the locations of former ecological communities and “raise” them from the past by drawing them in chalk on the pavement that now covers the sites. Mannahatta Week 2008 was such a success that AUP (www.aupnyc.org) plans on repeating the event for fall 2009!
